Through Internet
If you have Internet access, use the 'Route Planner' function on 'www.rac.co.uk' or 'www.theaa.com' using your home post code and Gita Bhavan's post code (LE2 3AD) or visit 'streetmap.co.uk' and type in Gita Bhavan's postcode for a map of the area. However, those who have some idea about Leicester City they can follow the directions below.
From Leicester city centre or Leicester railway station
Follow A6 towards 'Market Harborough' (at the station, the A6 is 'London Road'). After three sets of traffic lights (from the station) you will pass an open park on your right. At the 4th traffic light there is a roundabout. Take the 2nd exit on this roundabout. Just before the 2nd traffic light after the roundabout, turn right onto Clarendon Park Road. Gita Bhavan is just before the traffic lights on your left.
From M1 (Jn.21) or M69
Follow the ring road signposted towards Oadby. After 3 to 4 miles you will see a Racecourse on your right. Then you will reach a big roundabout. Take the first exit signposted 'City Centre' and A6. After five set of traffic lights, turn left into Clarendon Park Road. Gita Bhavan is just before the traffic lights on your left.
Please note that a new set of traffic lights is under constraction and may be in operation before Durga Puja. If this is the case, Clarendon Park Road will be the first left immediately after 6th set of traffic lights.
Parking
You can park for free on Clarendon Park Road or any of the side streets.
Most people visiting Gita Bhavan park on the Avenue Road Extension, which runs parallel to Clarendon Park Road. After Gita Bhavan, take a left onto Portland Road. This leads onto Avenue Road Extension.
As far as we are aware, the area is safe and free from vandalism.
